Terms of Service
Effective: 27 May 2026 · Version 0.1 (pre-launch)
By creating a Sigil account, you agree to these terms. They form a contract between you and the operator of Sigil, registered in England & Wales (entity formation pending — see Contact below).
The service
Sigil is a personal credential gateway. We hold tokens to third-party services you choose to connect (e.g. Gmail, GitHub), and proxy access to those services for AI agents you authorise. The agents and the third-party services have their own terms; ours govern only your use of Sigil itself.
Account responsibility
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if older.
- You keep your authentication factors — password, passkey, TOTP, recovery code — safe. We cannot recover a fully locked-out account.
- You are responsible for the agents you authorise to act on your behalf and for any consequences of the tool calls they make.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Sigil to attempt unauthorised access to any third-party system, including but not limited to attempting to bypass the permission grants you have configured.
- Use Sigil to harass, defraud, or harm any other person.
- Probe, attack, or attempt to compromise Sigil’s infrastructure. Coordinated security research is welcomed via our future
security.txt.
Service availability
Sigil is in pre-launch and we make no uptime or service-level commitments at this stage. Once we open to paying customers, we will publish an SLA in a separate document.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, after notice to you when feasible. You may close your account at any time via Dashboard → Account → Close your account.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sigil is provided as-is. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, nor for damages arising from third-party services we proxy or AI agents you authorise. Our aggregate liability under these terms is capped at the greater of £100 or twelve months of fees paid (zero for free accounts).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.
Changes
We’ll notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
